The Ottawa .NET Community Presents
MCTS 70-526 Study Group Kick Off Meeting
Greetings Everyone!
Summer is quickly coming to an end and it’s time to get started on the 2007/2008 season. At the top of our “To Do” list is the MCTS Study Group. Last season’s Study Group attacked the MCTS 70-536 exam (.NET Framework 2.0 Application Development Framework) with awesome results and we’re starting this season with a session that will focus on the MCTS 70-526 exam (Windows-Based Client Development). The Study Group Session will run from September 4th through to December 10th and this Tuesday (August 21st) we’ll be hosting an information session to tell you all about it. If you’re interested in a rich and rewarding peer-to-peer learning experience then join us to learn more about ODNC Study Groups.

About ODNC Study Groups
The Ottawa .NET Community has successfully hosted 4 Study Groups. Each Study Group aims at mastering material for a specific MCTS exam. We take a peer-to-peer approach to learning and all participants are involved in preparing and presenting the material being worked on. We use self study kits which break down exam requirements into approximately 16 chapters and spend a week on each chapter. Participants are expected to prepare for each session by reading the material and doing the exercises. Each week’s study session runs for 2½ hours (6:00pm – 8:30pm), is broken into 3 sections (Content Review, Labs/Exercises/Demos, and Exam Prep), and presented by Study Group Members on a rotating basis. We have two reviews built into the schedule (Mid Term, and Final) and we expect all participants to write the certification exam at the end of the study session.
