Short'n'Sweet (and grossly over generalized but gives you high level, thousand foot view)
.NET 3.0 = WPF + WCF + WF + CardSpace
WPF = Windows Presentation Foundation
WCF = Windows Communication Foundation
WF = Windows Workflow Foundation (no typo there, MS has purposely made it NOT WWF :>) CardSpace ?= next version of Passport but this time on steroids, stable, secure, personal, and in your total control (or so it seemed)
