After get the PIA installed I find that beta is still not working.
Error Packge 'Visual Studio Setting and Project Designer Package' has failed to load properly (Guid = .....). It can't even generate a win form (additional guid errors)...
any Ideas

If you had Beta 1 install and you get these GUID type errors after installing beta 2 then you should check for dublicate assemblies in the /windows/assembly directroy

The dublicate assembles are the Microsoft.* and 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.* and if you check the version date of the assembly (check properties) you can identify and remove the bogus assemblies to fix the GUID problems (remove the ones with the oldest date).
Discalimer - remove assemblies are you own risk. |

There is a beta 1 removal tool available from the MSDN website which actually works.

Hey I got the same error because you have to follow a preset sequence if you had beta1 which has a time bomb on it :{ there are some clean up tools but they failed for me on the first try.
uninstall all of the 2.0 stuff from beta 1 in the control panel then run the tool you will be ok.
